Black Spider Gasket for Aqua UV Ultima II, 1.5" Valve (Original Style)
The spider gasket sits in the valve stem seat of 1.5" Ultima II multi-port valves and compresses to create a watertight seal each time you move the handle between positions. Continuous pressure cycling and seasonal freeze-thaw gradually harden the black nitrile rubber until it stops compressing fully and water starts seeping around the valve stem. This OEM black spider gasket is the correct replacement for original-style Ultima II valves.

When to Replace
Signs of a failing spider gasket include slow drips around the valve stem, water pooling under the filter after backwash, or visible cracking and hardening on the rubber surface. Filters over 10 years old that have never had the gasket replaced are candidates for proactive replacement at the next spring startup.
Installation
Close the main drain valve and release all system pressure. Remove the valve housing cover and carefully pry the old gasket away from the valve seat without gouging the mounting surface. Clean any residual rubber or debris. Apply a thin coat of rubber gasket adhesive to the new spider gasket and press it firmly into the valve seat. Allow 24 hours for adhesive to cure before reactivating the system.
Note: this is the original black gasket. If your Ultima II has a white spider gasket, order part AU-RP-A50169 instead.
