External pond pumps have multiple O-ring seals at different locations throughout the casing assembly. How to Use
Shut down and isolate the pump. Drain the casing by opening the drain plug or disconnecting the inlet. Refer to the Ext pump service diagram in the manual to identify the location and size of each O-ring position. Remove each old O-ring from its groove using a soft plastic pick to avoid scratching the sealing surfaces. Lightly lubricate each new O-ring with a water-compatible silicone grease before installation. Seat each O-ring in its groove without twisting. Reassemble the pump and test for leaks after the first run before returning to full service.
