Fountain Bowl Media Nets give your 27" square fountain bowl biological filtration by holding bio-media in the water column so beneficial bacteria can colonize and break down waste. Without a media net, a fountain bowl is just a decorative water feature; with one, it actively processes the water cycling through it.
How It Works
The net suspends inside the bowl below the pump, keeping bio-media separated from the pump screen and in constant contact with flowing water. This promotes the bacterial colonies that convert ammonia to harmless nitrates, extending water clarity between cleanings and reducing the frequency of full water changes.

How to Use
Fill the net with bio-media (such as BioBalls or lava rock), tie it closed, and suspend it inside the bowl below the pump. Rinse the media in pond water (not tap water) every 4 to 6 weeks to clear surface debris without killing the bacteria. Replace the net when the mesh shows wear or tears.
