Aquascape Mat Brass Screw Set 1/4-20 x 3/4" - 8 Per Bag

Corrosion-Resistant Hardware for Filter Mat Frame Attachment

The Aquascape Mat Brass Screw Set contains eight 1/4-20 x 3/4 inch (M6 x 19 mm) brass screws for securing filter media mats to Aquascape biological filter frames and mat racks. When original screws corrode and break off in the filter housing, removing the mat for cleaning becomes difficult and the mat can shift in the housing during water flow.

Brass Outperforms Steel in Continuous Wet Environments

Standard steel fasteners corrode rapidly in the continuous moisture environment inside a pond filter. Brass resists corrosion in freshwater and maintains its thread integrity over multiple seasonal cleaning cycles, allowing the filter mat to be removed and reinstalled without fastener failure. The 1/4-20 thread pattern is the standard Aquascape filter mat specification; the 8-piece quantity covers the full fastener count for one complete filter mat frame.

Specification Value
Thread Size 1/4-20 (M6)
Length 3/4 in (19 mm)
Material Brass (corrosion-resistant)
Quantity 8 screws per bag
Compatible With Aquascape filter mat frames and mat racks

How to Use

Remove the old corroded screws using a standard flathead or Phillips screwdriver, depending on the head type. Clear any corrosion debris from the threaded inserts in the filter frame before installing the new screws. Thread the brass screws by hand first to confirm proper engagement, then tighten with a screwdriver until snug. Do not overtighten; brass is softer than steel and the threads in the plastic frame can strip under excess torque.

Ideal for annual filter mat maintenance on Aquascape biological and mechanical filters where original fasteners have corroded or broken, and as a hardware upgrade during filter servicing.
