Bottom Section Replacement
The Atlantic Water Gardens AquaSkim riser tube bottom section is the lower portion of the two-part riser tube assembly that connects the Oase AquaSkim surface skimmer to the pond plumbing below. The riser tube assembly allows the skimmer intake to float at the surface while the plumbing connection remains fixed below — the bottom section takes the greatest mechanical stress from pump suction and movement over time.
Two-Part Riser for Flexible Connection
The AquaSkim riser tube design separates the floating skimmer body from the fixed pond plumbing through a telescoping two-part tube — the bottom section connects to the liner or pond plumbing fitting, and the top section (sold separately) telescopes with pond water level changes. The bottom section is subject to constant pump suction force and is the section most likely to crack or develop small seepage leaks at the connection points over time. Replace the bottom section if suction-side leakage or cracking is observed.

How to Replace
Lower the pond water level below the AquaSkim connection point. Disconnect the old bottom riser tube from the pond plumbing fitting. Clean the connection surfaces and install the new bottom section, ensuring all O-ring seals are correctly positioned and lubricated. Reconnect to the plumbing fitting and to the top riser tube section. Restore the water level and confirm there is no suction-side seepage around the riser connections.
