The Oase FiltoClear 8200 (gen 3) quartz glass sleeve separates the 60 W UV lamp from the water flow, transmitting ultraviolet light at maximum intensity while protecting the lamp from submersion. This sleeve must remain clear to deliver the full UV dose that large ponds require for algae and pathogen control.
High Transmission Matters at 60 W
The 60 W lamp produces the strongest UV output in the FiltoClear lineup, but a clouded sleeve negates that advantage. Mineral scale, biological film, and even fingerprints reduce UV transmission enough to let algae survive the chamber. Replace the sleeve annually — always with the UV bulb — and handle it with clean gloves.

Installation
