Biological Filter Media for Filtral All-in-One Units
The Oase Filtral 400 / 800 / 1600 bio surface element is a porous biological media that provides high surface area for beneficial nitrifying bacteria to colonise inside your Filtral filter. More bacterial surface area means faster conversion of toxic ammonia and nitrite into harmless nitrate — essential for keeping fish healthy.
Supplements Foam Filtration
While the foam pads handle mechanical particle removal, the bio surface element focuses on biological water treatment. It sits inside the Filtral alongside the foam, operating passively as water flows through. Replace the bio element when it becomes clogged with fine silt that cleaning cannot remove, or every two to three seasons as a precaution.

Installation
Place the bio element inside the Filtral housing alongside the foam media. Ensure it does not block the water flow path or compress the foam. Do not rinse new bio media in tap water — chlorine kills the bacteria you want to establish. Allow four to six weeks for the bacterial colony to mature.
Ideal for adding biological filtration capacity to Filtral all-in-one units in ponds with fish.
